Contrary to reports from well-informed British circles in London that Haj Amin Al Husseini, the ex-Mufti of Palestine, had surrendered to the British in Iran and had been brought to Palestine where he was reportedly under surveillance, the Italian radio today announced that the ex-Mufti “succeeded in evading capture by the British and his whereabouts are jealously kept secret.”
The report of the Italian radio was broadcast as emanating from Kabul, Afghanistan. It said that all Iranian rebels captured by the British in Iran have been condemned to death by a British court martial set up at Bagdad.
