A violent attack on local and world Zionist leaders was made here today by Joseph Weitz, director of development of the Jewish National Fund, in a final report to the Central Zionist Council of Argentina before his departure for Israel.
He accused the leaders of doing too little for Israel and with being spurred only by catastrophes. He stressed the need for a Hebrew education, charging that the second generation of Jews in Argentina was losing its Jewishness. Assailing the party divisions in the Zionist movements outside Israel, he said that they are an “imitation of bad things in Israel,” and severely criticized the party organization of pioneering training centers here. Mr. Weitz also taxed Zionist leaders with using fancy phraseology about the Jewish state while being unaware of daily developments in Israel.
