Jacob Potofsky, president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union, called on President Truman today and later said that they discussed “general topics” relating to his recent visit to Israel as a guest of the Histedrut.
He said that he was not a Zionist but that he saw Israel “without colored glasses” and his impressions were “very favorable.” Mr. Potofsky described the Israeli housing problem. Asked about union plans to help finance Israeli housing, Mr. Potofsky said that such business was “up to the board.”
