The Jewish town council of Jerusalem today announced that it is opposed to the Hatoshav association which has been organized here to take legal steps to separate the Jewish community in Jerusalem from the rest of the population and obtain autonomy for it as is now the case in Tel Aviv.
The Jewish town council calls the Hatoshav movement irresponsible and says it undermines discipline. It demands that the leaders of the movement desist from further activity. In the meantime the founders of the Hatoshav society, mostly lawyers, announce that they have enrolled one thousand members.
