Present strategic developments in the Middle East theatre of war conclusively show that Jewish efforts in developing Palestine have been a direct contribution to the Allied cause, it was stated last night in an annual report presented to a nation-wide meeting of the British Jewish National Fund.
The report also stressed the obligation of British Jewry, as the last free Jewish community in Europe, to intensify the work of redeeming large stretches of land in Palestine so that “when the nightmare of war” is over, Jews from the ghettos and the concentration camps will have an opportunity to live in freedom and happiness.
