Organizations whose object it is to aid Jewish crippled with advice and financial assistance have coordinated their work. A new unified group called “Self-Help Group of Jewish Cripples” will provide treatment for the disabled, prepare programs for their cultural training and provide an opportunity for a “mutual exchange of ideas.”
A statement issued by the organization reads in part as follows:
“The introduction of the ‘Aryan’ paragraph in the general self aid organizations created the immediate need of bringing about a concentration of Jewish cripple organizations. The new organization will give an opportunity to Jews who have been crippled from birth, or at an early age, to overcome the difficulties with which life increasingly confronts them.
“The organization considers it as one of its most important tasks to endeavor to remove some of the sense of inferiority that often afflicts cripples as a result of their contacts with the normal world and demonstrate that cripples too are valuable elements in humanity at large.”
