President Truman and Secretary of State Marshall were urged today by the Jewish national Workers Alliance to lift the embargo on the shipment of arms to the state of Israel. The appeal was dispatched following a meeting of the general executive of the Alliance.
At the same time, the American Federation for Polish Jews made public today the text of a message sent yesterday to the President and to leading Congressional and Democratic leaders. The Federation appealed for immediate de jure recognition of Israel, lifting of the arms embargo and financial aid to the Jewish state.
