With Passover not so far off, the Jewish colonists are asking “what about matzoth”? and are answering the question by organizing special artisans’ cooperatives in the colonies for baking matzoth, not only for themselves, but to sell. The Moscow Jewish Communist newspaper reports that in the colonies of Nahartiv, Lvov, Neizhitomir and Kherson in the Batraki region, meaning the poorest, the Jewish peasants have organized such cooperatives, some even under the chairmanship of young Jewish peasant Communists to provide matzoth from their bakeries for the entire region.
The “Emes” terms it “tolerance towards religion,” and urges strict opposition.
