Vienna, which until recently drew so heav an enrollment of Jewish students from all parts of the world will soon be entirely without Jewish students, if the present conditions are any indications of the future.
Even the Jewish students of Hungary are avoiding the Austrian universities. Guided by the Secretariat of the World Federation of Jewish Students, the Jewish young men and women are leaving for the colleges of Italy, Belgium, Czecho-Slovakia and other points. In particular the Italian universities seem to be drawing a heavy enrollment of Jewish students.
The once famous Jewish center of learning, Padua, seems to be regaining something of its ancient Jewish strength with the concentration of large numbers of Jewish students there.
Committees are being organized at Rome, Trieste, Padua and other places to make the path of the students more inviting. Opportunities are being provided whereby the Jewish students may in their leisure hours earn towards their maintenance.
