Many Jewish towns and villages in White Russia, following the decree of the Soviet Government, giving to the National Minorities in places where they are in the majority, the right to form their own Soviets, are now asking for recognition as such National Centers.
The latest Soviet legislature with regard to the National Minorities gives towns having a majority of Jews the right to form Jewish Soviets. The towns of Senna where the Jews represent 58% of the population, Janovitchi where the Jews represent 59% of the population, Tsasniki with 75% Jews and Kolishki with 77% Jews have already been recognized as National Centers and have elected their own administrative Soviets.
In the district of Orsha, the Communist Party has applied to the Central Committee of the Party in White Russia for permission to establish such Jewish soviets in Tolotchin and Dubrowna.
