Outwardly unmoved, a 29-year-old Dutch-Jewish ##, Branca Simons, today heard sentence of death passed on her for betraying fellow Jews to the Germans. Her non-Jewish husband, 45-year-old Amsterdam chauffeur ## Houthuys, was sentenced to death for complicity.
The two worked together with another Jewish woman, Ann Van Dijk, who was tenced to death some weeks ago by the same court. Both women were arrested by the ##apo in 1943 and agreed to betray Dutch Jews in exchange for their freedom. On a ## day in 1944 they placed 35 Jews into the hands of the Germans. All of the Jews ## their lives in concentration camps. For their services the two women received ## guilders (approximately $8,000) in 15 months.
