The Roumanian Regency Council will in a few days receive an appeal from the Jewish communities in Ismail against the action of the Roumanian authorities compelling observant Jews to violate the Sabbith.
The local authorities promulgated an ordinance which compels the Jewish storekeepers to keep their stores open on Saturday. Those who declined to do so were heavily fined. An appeal to the courts was prepared against the fines.
The Jewish deputies in parliament will introduce an interpellation to the government at the next session.
