Interest in the plan to be evolved by Calvin Coolidge, Alfred E. Smith and Julius Rosenwald, for the distribution to charitable and educational institutions of the $8,000,000 fund left by the late Conrad Hubert, flashlight manufacturer, brought out the fact yesterday that the late Mr. Hubert was a Jew. His name previously was Horowitz. Verification of this fact was made by Bertram C. Plante, one of the executors of the will.

Mr. Hubert provided in his will that three-quarters of his residuary estate be administered to benevolent, educational and religious institutions. He specified that three men of prominence be designated to distribute the fund Calvin Coolidge, a Protestant, Alfred E. Smith. a Catholic, and Julius Rosenwald, a Jew, were chosen. One of the monthly meetings of the three was held on Friday.
