Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, today declared he was always ready to discuss the question of Arab-Jewish relations with the authorized representatives of the Palestine Arabs.
Addressing the final session of the Agency’s administrative committee conference here, he disclosed that he had informed Colonial Secretary William Ormsby-Gore of his readiness to go to Palestine at any time for a joint discussion with Arab leaders and the Government.
The statement was made during a discussion on the implications of proposals by foreign Arab representatives for cessation of the Arab general strike.
Dr. Weizmann voiced regret at the Palestine Government’s failure to take energetic action when the disorders broke out on April 19. He paid tribute to the restraint and discipline of the Palestine Jews.
The two-day conference of the committee concluded with adoption of resolutions, including one on the question of Arab-Jewish relations and another on the Agency’s budget.
