An overflow audience which gathered here to hear an address on “The Christian in the Face of Anti-Semitism,” heard Father Riquet of the Cathedral of Notre Dame remind them of the number of Popes who had condemned anti-Semitism. Father Riquet said that the Popes have “determined my attitude.” He pledged to continue his fight against racism. Grand Rabbi Jacob Kaplan expressed to the meeting the gratitude of French Jewry for what Christians did for persecuted Jews during the Nazi occupation of France in World War II. The meeting was held under the auspices of the “Friends of the French Republic.”
