The Jewish Observer and Middle East Review, which was suspended last week in a clash that ended with the dismissal last Friday of Jon Kimche as editor, appeared today according to schedule. Dr. Leo Shafler, deputy general secretary of the British Zionist Federation, will serve as acting editor until a new editor is chosen, the spokesman added.
The Federation is a majority stockholder in the company publishing the Observer. The issue was suspended last week when Mr. Kimche refused to cancel plans to publish in that issue an article on unemployment in Israel which Dr. Shafler termed misleading.
