A mass-meeting in the Jewish-populated East End section of London today paid tribute to Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt “as the first lady of a land which has not only become the home of 5,000,000 Jews, many of whom were oppressed in other countries, but has given them full freedom and equality.” Yesterday thousands of East End Jews lined the streets and cheered when Mrs. Roosevelt passed on route to visit the air raid shelter at Stepney.
