An amendment to the criminal law of Palestine making it sufficient for a conviction in crimes committed during riots to merely show that a group of armed people had set out to commit murder and not whether they had actually struck the blow felling a particular person, was suggested in a letter to the “Palestine Bulletin” commenting on the judicial aspects of the Macleff case. The writer remarked rather sharply that “if one chooses to participate in a riot he must take the consequences of his illegal act.”
