Despite the protest of the Montreal Council of Orthodox Rabbis, entrance examination at McGill University will be held, as originally scheduled, for the day on which Yom Kippur occurs.
When the examination was first set, the Montreal Council of Orthodox Rabbis pointed out to the Principal of McGill, Sir Arthur Currie, that the examination would fall on the most solemn day of the Jewish calendar. Sir Arthur declared he would bring their protest to the Registrar. Now it has been announced that the change requested will not be made. The examination set for Yom Kippur is in the French course.
