For the first time since the end of the World War, the Jewish Community of Berlin has honored the memory of the Jewish war heroes in separate services held on the Jewish cemetery in Weissensee today.
Thousands participated in the services, which were preceded by a parade of Jewish veterans and students. Rabbi Beack, formerly Field Chaplain of the German Army, delivered the memorial address. 12,000 Jewish soldiers were killed in the German Army during the war.
