The Mizrachi Organization of America will launch a campaign to raise $500,000 for the support of the religious institutions in the settlements and colonies in Palestine and the institutions of the Mizrachi workers organization in Palestine, it was announced yesterday.
For this purpose a delegation headed by the Mizrachi world leader, Rabbi Meyer Berlin, will come to America in November. The delegation will open the campaign in New York City and will visit the larger Jewish communities of this country.
The decision to create a special fund to provide for the religious needs of the new Yishub and the maintenance of the Mizrachi agricultural and educational activities in Palestine was adopted at the party conference in Basle as a result of the present in ability of the other Zionist funds to make the necessary provision for the religious institutions. Similiar campaigns will be conducted in other countries.
A conference of orthodox congregations of the Eastern States was called by the Mizrachi to consider ways of organizing Orthodox congregations for the upbuilding work in Palestine. The conference’ will be held in New York. November 27th.
