There are at present over a thousand Jewish students attending the various Italian universities, according to a report of the Union of Jewish Students in Italy, which has just concluded its conference at Florence.
The majority of Jewish stadents came here from Hungary, Roumania and Polan where they had no facilities, partly on account of the numerus clausus and partly owing to other restrictions upon the continuation of their education of the respective countires There are also about 60 students from Palestine who are well organized and conduct intensive propaganda for the furtherance of the Hebrew language and literature. The Executive Committee of the Jewish Students’ Union has transferred its headquarters from Florenc to Padua.
