Morris Feinstone, prominent Jewish labor leader and executive head of the United Hebrew Trades, which is the central body of the Jewish labor unions, died here at his home today of a heart attack. He was 64 years old.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, he came to the United States many years ago and devoted himself to the Jewish labor movement. He was known in labor circles as the liason man between the American labor movement and Jewish labor. He contributed greatly to the close contact established between the American Federation of Labor and the needle-trades unions, and was also instrumental in developing the smaller Jewish labor unions.
A Socialist, and one of the active members of the Jewish Labor Committee, Feinstone was also one of the staunch supporters of the Zionist Labor movement in America and one of the leaders of the National Labor Committee for Palestine. He was also active in the ORT movement. The funeral will be held on Friday and the procession will start from the building of the Jewish Daily Forward, the Jewish Socialist newspaper. Feinstone was a member of the Forward Association.
