Karim al Hasimi, a member of the League’s executive committee announced that the purpose of the new organization was to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the Arab nations and the Soviet peoples, to publicize the Arab cause in the Soviet Union and to take part in the national liberation movements of the Arab people. “
