New experiments with the schechita to eliminate the assertions of anti-Semitic agitators that the Jewish ritual method of slaughtering animals does not meet the requirements for prevention of cruelty to animals were made by the Jewish schechita board here.

Two methods based on stunning the animals by electricity before the schechita were tried. One method was designed by Engineer Weinberger of Munich, the other by Dr. Solomon Lieben of Prague. Czechoslovakia.

The latter method proved highly successful, it was declared, and meets the requirements of the Jewish ritual. According to the “Juedische Echo” of Munich, the Lieben method will be given another trial and is most likely to be adopted by the schechita board.
