Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, leader of the Palestine Defense Party, representing the Arab moderates, today submitted a memorandum to Britain’s Palestine Partition Commission voicing strong opposition to the proposed division of the Holy Land.

Warning that if the proposed three-way partition was carried out it would result in continued bloodshed, Nashashibi stated that the entire Arab population was boycotting the commission because its terms of reference included only partition as a solution of the Palestine question.

Meanwhile, two successive attempts were made to assassinate Assistant District Commissioner James H.H. Pollock in Nablus. He was not harmed. The assailants escaped.

A band of 50 Arab terrorists today attacked a Bedouin colony near Beisan, killing the Sheikh’s young son. An Arab woman was slightly injured when four bombs were exploded at midnight in the center of Tulkarem.
