More than 5,000 delegates from 250 communities in the U.S., Canada and Latin America were scheduled to arrive here tomorrow to attend the 26th annual convention of the National Committee for Labor Israel, which will continue through the week-end. The delegates are expected to bring with them $1,000,000 in cash gifts for transmission to the Histadrut in Israel.
Reuben Shreibman, deputy mayor of Jerusalem, declared here yesterday that any United Nations plan to internationalize Jerusalem would be “unworkable” and would mean “trouble instead of peace.” Mr. Shreibman is in this country for a three-month visit to study American municipal administration and to aid the Histadrut drive. He added that the Israelis would resist with all the force at their disposal any proposal to internationalize the Holy City.
