Jewish pedestrians and others who looked Jewish were assaulted today in the streets of Munich and windows of Jewish shops were painted by Nazis with anti-Jewish slogans, as a result of the renewed anti-Jewish campaign throughout Germany.

The anti-Semitic inscriptions on the Jewish shop-windows were painted with a mixture which included acid, making it impossible to wash them off.

KLEIBER AN “ARYAN”

The well-known conductor, Erich Kleiber, who was generally considered a Jew, came out today with an official declaration that he is a “pure Aryan.”

The question whether there are still any branches of economic life open to the Jews in Germany, is asked in the Juedische Allgemeine Zeitung. The paper declares that old-established Jewish businesses are passing into non-Jewish hands.

“At one time,” the paper states, “tailoring and the grain trade were Jewish occupations which were handed down for generations from father to son. There are very few sons now who go into the business of their fathers. The sons are going about with emigration plans or are training in artisanship, which will be of use to them in some other country.”
