Expulsion of Jews from 83 towns and villages in Bohemia Moravia has been launched under strong Nazi pressure, it was reported today from Prague.
The Nazi-controlled press in Prague has started an inspired campaign demanding that yellow armbands be introduced for Jews in the Protectorate, as was done in other Nazi-held territories. The Czech population is in sympathy with the Jews and condemns the new Nazi persecutions.
“Aryans” in the Czech Protectorate who contracted marriages with Jews after March 20, 1939, will be considered as Jews, according to a decree of the German authorities published in the Nazi organ Der Neue Tag. The Government is also planning a decree banning further mixed marriages.
