Dr. Emanuel Neumann, newly elected member of the Jewish Agency executive, today declared that he may remain on the executive as a member without portfolio. He said he may spend half of his time in Israel and the reminder in the United States.
Meeting with reporters just before he left for the United States, Dr. Neumann called the recent World Zionist Congress a “constructive” one, saying that it successfully defined the aims of the Zionist movement. He expressed regret that the Revisionist-Herut grouping was not represented on the World Zionist executive and that the movement had failed to draw Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, the “outstanding Diaspora personality,” into a position of leadership. A farewell reception was tendered to Dr. Neumann here last night by the General Zionist Party.
