The murder of the Jewish student, David Falik, in the Czernowitz court by an anti-Semitic student, was debated in the Roumanian parliament last Saturday.
The debate was caused by an interpellation introduced by Deputy M. Ebner of Czernowitz who asked the Minister of Justice whether he knows that Falik was the victim of the anti-Semitic agitation, whether he knows that Falik was a martyr of his people and that his murder was the result of the lenient treatment by the Roumanian auhorities of the anti-Semitic students who are attacking the Jews. Deputy Ebner asked the Minister what steps are being taken to punish the murderer. Many of the deputies interrupted the speaker.
Alexander Cuza, leader of the Roumanian anti-Semites, asked the Minister of the Interior “what steps were taken to stop the Jewish provocation against the Christian people.”
The reply of the government to Deputy Ebner’s interpellation is expected to be given on Thursday.
During the last few days new anti-Jewish attacks by followers of the Cuza movement took place on the streets of Czernowitz.
