The “friendliness” of the new Rumanian Minister, Maor Radu Irimescu, toward the United States is cited by secretary of State Cordell hull in a letter to senator lonegran, made public today. The letter was in response to an inquiry by senator lonegran made at the instance of the American Jewish congress.
Secretary hull said the state department was informed of major Irimescu’s background. He attended Columbia University, has been connected with American banking firms for ten years and has an American wife. The letter said he was “a generally friendly attitude to the United States and American interests.” He belongs to no political party in Rumania.
