Four books of Jewish interest, in addition to the Jewish Publication Society’s recently issued English translation of the Tcrah are on the list of books on religion among the 1, 780 titles compiled for inclusion in the White House Library.
The books are Mordecai Kaplan’s “Judaism as a Civilization”; Moses Richlin’s “The Promised City, New York’s Jews”; Leo Pfeffer’s “Church, State and Freedom”; and Marshall Sklare’s “Conservative Judaism.”
