National military detachments are now being organized in the Red Army in accordance with the decision of the last conference of the Communist Party. Each republic in the Federation of Soviet Republics will organize its own National Red Army. The first steps in this direction have been in Caucasia and Turkestan where the national military detachments will be commanded by Moslem officers. Detachments are also being formed of Latvians and Esthonians. The commands will be given in the language of the members of the respective detachments.
In the Ukraine, a plan is being launched for the Ukrainianizing of the military detachments stationed there. A mixed system of commands will be introduced. Where the majority are Ukrainian the commands will be given in the Ukrainian language.
No Jewish detachments, however, are being formed.
