On the occasion of Rosh Hashanah the Palestine Government released 700 Jewish children held as “illegal immigrants” in the Athlit detention camp.
Representatives of 32 Jewish settlements were awaiting the children at the gates of the camp to offer them permanent homes. The children were then packed into autos and, singing Hebrew songs, left for the settlements.
