The Palestine Hebrew teachers who have gone out on strike in protest against the decision of the Jewish Agency Executive to reduce their salaries, are called upon to return immediately to their schools in a resolution adopted by the special plenary meeting of the Jewish National Council (Vaad Leumi) held at Tel Aviv to consider the situation. The Administration of the Vaad Leumi is trying to bring about a settlement between the teachers and the Executive of the Jewish Agency on the question of the wage reductions. The Teachers’ Union is conferring to-day with the Education Department of the Jewish Agency and it is expected that a settlement will be reached, and that the schools will be reopened in a day or two.
