Sucooth was observed on the German front according to time-hallowed tradition by Jewish troops of the U.S. 1st Army.
A Palestine citron and a palm branch were flown here for use in the services, which were conducted by Chaplain Morris Frank of Chatanooga. The soldiers even had G.I. “Succoth,” since the combination of a fox-hole and the branches overhead provided natural huts.
