The conference of Arab leaders from Palestine, Syria and other countries which has been convoked by the Egyptian Government in Cairo will not discuss any plans for political amalgamation, but will limit itself to economic questions only, it is reported today in the Falastin, leading Arab newspaper in Palestine.
The project for the establishment of a pan-Arab Federation which will be taken up at the Cairo conference will deal solely with the creation of an economic union between the interested Arab countries, the paper declares. While seeking to adjust their economic system, there is no intention of circumscribing the political independence of any of the Arab countries participating in the Cairo meeting, it is emphasized.
