The United States Department of State was urged by the annual encampment of the Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars to sever diplomatic relations with Germany because of Nazi propaganda activities in this country.
A resolution adopted to this effect charged the Nazi government with disseminating foreign propaganda to disrupt social and economic life in the United States. The resolution called on the Department of Justice to prosecute leaders of the League of Friends of New Germany in this country, alleging that the organization was formed with the sole purpose of disseminating religious prejudice.
The resolution, copies of which were sent to the federal government departments, charged that the Friends of New Germany were financed and directed by the Nazi government through accredited diplomatic representatives in direct violation of the privileges accorded foreign nations.
