The Pittsburgh City Council adopted a resolution calling upon industry and business in the city to oppose the Arab boycott of trade with Israel which it described as “one of the United States staunchest and firmest friends in the Near East.”

The resolution, which was signed by Mayor Joseph M. Barr, called attention to the restrictive policy of the Arab states which threaten or attempt to boycott commercial and industrial firms that do business with Israel. The City Council urged businessmen here to ignore the Arab boycott and not to supply any information under Arab threats.
