Israel watches with considerable concern the plans of Syria and Egypt to merge into a projected “United Arab State,” Israel’s Foreign Minister Golda Meir indicated today. She is reported to have intimated to the French Parliamentary delegation now visiting this country that such a move would lead to increased tension in the Middle East.
