According to “All reliable information” the British Government has not changed its partition policy for Palestine, the Sunday Times declares, while Jewish organizations in Poland and Czechoslovakia protested to Prime Minister Chamberlain against the plan to fix the Jews as a minority in the Holy Land, attributed to certain British official circles.
It seems “tolerably certain” that the terms of reference of the new Palestine commission will be issued this week as a white paper, the Times says, emphasizing that the commission is essentially a fact-finding body of inquiry. It states that the Government is not committed to any particular scheme of partition, but believes that the Royal Commission’s proposals are the best and most practical method of settling the situation.
