Three Israeli students at Bonn University have accused the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister, Joseph Winievicz, of “ignoring” Poland’s “crimes against Polish Jews.” In a cable to the minister, a copy of which was sent to the German press, the students objected to his comment on a television Interview here that Poland would never forget that six million Poles were victims of the Nazis. The students wrote to Mr. Winievicz: “What you failed to mention was that half of them were Jews. You must also realize what your regime is doing today–they are conducting an official anti-Semitic campaign. You condemn the deeds committed by the Nazis but you ignore your own crimes against Polish Jews.” The students further stated: “We strip you of the right to make political gain in the name of martyred Polish Jews.”
