Col. Josiah Wedgwood could have read his own obituary notice if he were in London today. Apparently through a make-up man’s error, a summary of his life appeared in the London Evening Standard with the heading: “Our son’s typeset obit, complete except for the line announcing his death.”
The story began: “His life ended in a blaze of fury against Nazism. He was a friend of Hitler’s first enemy–the Jews.”
(Col. Wedgwood is recovering from a heart attack he suffered in Newark on June 25. The Member of Parliament, who is now touring the United States, is 69 years old.)
