The number of Germans “who are willing, in sincere conviction, to exercise active brotherhood.” is now great, Chancellor Konrad Adenauer declared in a Brotherhood Week statement published here. Another statement on Brotherhood Week was issued by Heinrich Luebke, President of the Federal Republic.
President Luebke expressed his “gratitude” to the Jews of Germany for making “the defense against all totalitarian danger” part of their own cause. Both the President and the Chancellor expressed confidence in their belief that the German people will do everything in their power “to redeem the wrong done against the Jews.”
