President Bush is slated to meet with the Israeli and Palestinian Authority prime ministers on June 4. White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Bush will meet with Arab leaders in Egypt on June 3, and then head to Aqaba, Jordan, to meet with Ariel Sharon and Mahmoud Abbas. Fleischer said the summit is intended to follow up on a “hopeful moment” in the Middle East after Abbas’ appointment and Israel’s acceptance of the “road map” peace plan.
