President-elect Francisco Jose Erlich of Costa Rica arrived here last night with Mrs. Erlich and two members of his future Cabinet for a five-day visit as guests of the Israel Government. On hand at Lydda Airport to meet the visiting dignitary and his party were Foreign Minister Golda Meir, senior Government officials and members of the diplomatic corps. This is Mr. Erlich’s second visit to Israel.
Mr. Erlich, who will assume the Costa Rican presidency next May, said his country would try to learn from Israel, mainly in the field of agriculture, on which the Costa Rican economy is based. During his stay in Israel, Mr. Erlich will meet with President Ishak Ben-Zvi, Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and other members of the Government.
