The Australian press has embarked on a campaign to get the Australian Government to stamp out Nazi underground groups which seem to have sprung up among recent immigrants from Germany and in immigrant camps.

The Melbourne newspaper, Truth, has published photographs of Nazi material found among immigrants including a statuette of Hitler found at the Bonegilia immigrant camp. Other photographs show a Nazi Party badge found on a German immigrant worker at a government-operated fertilizer plant near Yarraville, and a bronze plaque found in an immigrant camp in North Cote Victoria which pictures German political heroes including Frederick the Great, Bismarck and Hitler.
