Rabbi David Solomon Rafalin has been elected chairman of the United Jewish Campaign-Keren Hayesod for 1953, which is expected to raise 4,000,000 pesos, approximately $450,000.
The Jewish Socialist Bund group and the Society for Culture and Relief–which represents the Jewish. Labor Committee–refused to participate in the joint campaign because the drive is being conducted officially under the name of the Keren Hayesod. Ezekiel Liverant, noted Zionist leader, is secretary-general of the 1953 drive.
