Rabbi Zirelson Killed by Nazi Bombs in Rumania

The Central Committee of the Agudas Israel announced today that they had been informed that Rabbi Judah Loeb Zirelson, 82, leading member of the Agudas Israel and the Chief Rabbi of Bessarabia had been killed in his home at Kishenev on July 6th during a German air-raid. Rabbi Zirelson who was born in the Ukraine had been a member of the Rumanian parliament and was instrumental in securing the section in the Rumanian Constitution of 1926 which provided equality for Jews.
